Implants are a surgically definitive treatment requiring advanced skills – and we certainly don’t want to revisit or have to reverse our hard work. Should we not apply the same level of skill to the holistic assessment and planning for our implant patients?
This presentation aims to explore simple factors that can be quickly observed during an initial assessment, that may help to offer a prospective implant patient a more comprehensive treatment plan. By taking these points on board, we can improve the predictability of our treatment outcomes and the longevity of our restorations, in an ethical manner. The approach opens a clinician up to a bigger uptake of multi-disciplinary treatment plans, which not only encourages the development of one’s clinical skills but often allows for collaborative approaches where we can learn from one another to the benefit of our patients.
